A Conversation with Sen. Ted Cruz

August 5 @ 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm

As the number of coronavirus cases passes 400,000 in Texas, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) has been critical of the new stimulus packages debated on Capitol Hill and argued for a long-term recovery bill to get the American people safely back to work. He also believes Democrats want to keep businesses and schools locked down to hurt President Trump in November. Cruz will discuss the COVID-19 health crisis, the ongoing unrest in Portland, tensions with China and the 2020 election. Join us on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 4:15 p.m. ET.

Sen. Ted Cruz
(R-Tex.)
Ted Cruz represents 29 million Texans in the U.S. Senate as a passionate fighter for limited government, national security, and economic growth. He has authored dozens of legislative measures that have been signed into law, including expanding 529 college savings accounts to allow parents to save for K–12 public, private, and religious education, repealing Obamacare’s individual mandate, imposing sanctions on terrorists who use civilians as human shields, designating North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism, halting Putin’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline, reauthorizing and reforming NASA, holding dictatorships in South American accountable, and ensuring the availability of additional records to help solve civil rights cold cases. He is also leading the fight in the Senate to support Texas jobs, confirm principled constitutionalists to our courts, hold Big Tech accountable to the American people, and fundamentally reassess the U.S.-China relationship and hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for covering up the coronavirus pandemic, committing human rights atrocities, and engaging in censorship, propaganda, and espionage in the United States. Senator Cruz is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, a former law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist, and former solicitor general of Texas. He has argued nine cases before the Supreme Court. In November of 2018, he was re-elected to the Senate by the people of Texas. Senator Cruz sits on the Foreign Relations, Commerce, Judiciary, Joint Economic, and Rules Committees. In the Commerce Committee, Senator Cruz is the chairman of the Aviation and Space Subcommittee. In the Judiciary Committee, Senator Cruz is the chairman of the Subcommittee on The Constitution.
