MANATEE ON MARS — the first public reading of a new play by Tanya Shaffer

September 26 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

We are proud to announce the first public reading of MANATEE ON MARS, a new play by Tanya Shaffer. It tells the story of Cody, a 12-year-old boy on the autism spectrum who makes sense of the world through the lens of his favorite cartoon, “The Adventures of Floaty Potato”; Cody’s estranged parents Margo and Dan; and a wealthy family—the Briars—who are trying to force Cody out of their daughter’s public school.

We have a magnificent cast lined up for this reading, including Catherine Castellanos, Samrat Chakrabarti, Anna Ishida, Ethan Jacobs, Adrian N. Roberts, Alicia Piemme Nelson, Daniel Shaffer-Green, and Marin Van Young.

Written by Tanya Shaffer
Dramaturgy by Nakissa Etemad
